Portrait of Lille

Portrait of Lille was ordered by Daphne who lives in the US. Lille is a lovely Labradoodle and I knew I would have fun painting her from the start. She is such a character and it shows!

Daphne sent me quite a few photos but offered to also take some new ones based on my advice. They came out great and Daphne managed to capture Lille in a sitting pose in a nearby park. Since it would be a shame not to include the scenery, Daphne asked me to paint it instead of a less complex background that she wanted at first. It was a great choice. The beautiful brown colors contrasting with the greenery and blue tones of the wood really make Lille stand out in this piece. :)
